Gallus is a mobile alarm application that requires the user to speak an engagement phrase out loud to dismiss the alarm. The goal is to turn getting up into an active decision rather than a reflex.
The application is published by Gallus, based in France. By downloading, installing, or using Gallus, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("T&C"). If you do not accept these terms, do not use the application.
To use Gallus you need:
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the application at any time. We cannot be held liable for any temporary or permanent unavailability.
Gallus is a paid subscription application. No free features are offered beyond the trial period. We display no advertising.
Prices may be adjusted to your country and local currency, in line with App Store and Google Play pricing tiers.
The subscription is billed via your Apple or Google account depending on the platform. Renewal is automatic at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. No payment information is processed by Gallus.
Where a trial is offered, its use is governed by store rules. You can cancel any time during the trial without being charged. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the paid subscription begins automatically.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from:
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. No prorated refund is issued by Gallus; refunds are governed exclusively by Apple and Google policies.
For users in the EU/EEA, by downloading and using the application you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge losing your 14-day right of withdrawal as soon as the first alarm is effectively triggered (Article L.221-28 of the French Consumer Code).
Gallus is designed to work robustly, but no alarm app can guarantee 100% delivery. Many factors outside our control can prevent an alarm from ringing correctly, including:
Do not use Gallus as your only alarm for critical situations (flights, exams, medical appointments, on-call shifts, etc.). For any critical situation, set an independent backup alarm. By using the application, you acknowledge that Gallus cannot be held liable for any delay, missed event, or lost opportunity resulting from a failure to trigger an alarm.
Gallus requires no account creation. The user's identity is not requested. A local anonymous identifier (UUID) is generated for subscription operation (RevenueCat); it contains no personal information.
Gallus is intended for strictly personal, non-commercial use. The license granted is personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable.
The following are prohibited:
In case of violation, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access without notice or compensation.
The voice challenge relies on speech recognition services from Apple (iOS) and Google (Android). Accuracy depends on microphone quality, ambient noise, accent, and language. Gallus does not guarantee a perfect recognition rate.
To avoid leaving you locked out, the application provides a keyboard fallback challenge: if voice recognition fails persistently, you can type the phrase to dismiss the alarm. This mechanism is a safety net; it does not change the spirit of the application.
All elements composing the application (source code, design, interface, graphics, logos, sounds, texts) are protected by French and international intellectual property laws. They are the exclusive property of Gallus or its licensors.
The phrases you enter belong to you. You grant Gallus a non-exclusive, royalty-free license, limited to your device, to store and use them in the voice challenge.
Without our written authorization, you may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the application.
Notifications are essential to alarm operation. By denying notifications, you accept that alarms will not trigger reliably. Notification frequency is strictly tied to the alarms you have scheduled and their chained mechanism.
The collection and processing of data are governed by our Privacy Policy: https://gallus-app.com/en/privacy/.
The application relies on the following services:
Use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
The application is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best to ensure proper operation but do not guarantee that it will be free of errors, bugs, or interruptions.
To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
In no event shall Gallus be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost revenue, profits, opportunities, or any harm resulting from a failed alarm trigger.
In all cases, Gallus's total liability under these T&C is limited to the amount you actually paid for the application during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the dispute.
Gallus is intended for users aged 13 and older (app-store limit). By using the application, you confirm you meet this age requirement. Minors must have legal guardian authorization to subscribe.
You can stop using the application at any time. To erase all local data, uninstall the application: iOS and Android wipe the private storage automatically.
To cancel your subscription, see section 4.5.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access in case of breach of these T&C, without notice or compensation.
Gallus cannot be held liable for any delay or failure in performing its obligations resulting from a force majeure event under Article 1218 of the French Civil Code: natural disaster, network outage, cyberattack, government decision, third-party service unavailability, or any other event beyond Gallus's reasonable control.
We reserve the right to modify these T&C at any time. For substantial changes, we will notify you in the app. Continued use after publication of the modified T&C constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
These T&C constitute the entire agreement between you and Gallus.
If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
Failure to enforce a right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
You may not assign your rights or obligations without our prior written consent. Gallus may freely assign its rights as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
These T&C are governed by French law.
In case of dispute, the parties agree to seek an amicable resolution. Contact: contact@gallus-app.com.
Failing amicable resolution, any dispute will be submitted to the competent French courts, except where mandatory legal provisions provide otherwise.
Pursuant to Articles L.611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, you may use a consumer ombudsman free of charge.
